Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, competes in the West Coast Conference and plays in one of the most beautiful campus settings in college basketball. The Waves have made NCAA Tournament appearances and are known for their picturesque oceanside campus.
The Waves mascot was adopted to reflect the university's stunning location overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Malibu, where waves crash against the nearby shore.
The 2000 NCAA Tournament upset of Indiana in the first round, when the Waves knocked off the storied Hoosiers and advanced to the second round.
