The Blue Blood Index — every college basketball program ranked, all-time
One composite ranking of all 365 Division I programs, built from five signals the site already computes: banners (era-weighted national titles, Final Fours, Elite Eights, Sweet 16s, bids), sustained peak (the average HTSS of a program's ten best seasons), decade-by-decade adjusted efficiency, longevity-adjusted winning percentage, and AP poll prestige. Each is standardized across the whole population and combined — 30% hardware, 30% sustained peak, 15% efficiency, 15% winning, 10% polls — then mapped to the HTSS scale: 50 is average, 70–75 elite, 80+ blue blood.

The greatest seasons — top 50 team-seasons since 1939
Every team-season with complete tournament data, scored on 45% HTSS, 30% adjusted efficiency against era peers, 10% tournament result, and 15% Simple Rating System against era peers. The tournament term is deliberately light: HTSS already rewards March, and at a heavier weight the list was just the champions reordered.
How it works
Missing data is never scored as zero: when a component does not exist for a program or season (adjusted efficiency before 1949-50, the AP poll before 1948-49, a season whose tournament results are not yet compiled) its weight is redistributed across the components that do. Titles are era-weighted (0.70 for the 8-team era through 1949, 0.85 through 1974, 0.95 through 1984, 1.00 for the 64-team era), and Final Four, Elite Eight and Sweet 16 counts are scaled by the era of each program's runs, derived from its season results. Winning percentage is shrunk toward .500 with a 200-game prior so longevity itself counts. The 2019-20 season (no tournament) and the most recent season (tournament results pending) are not eligible for the seasons list.
