Mississippi Valley State is a historically Black university in Itta Bena, Mississippi, competing in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. The Delta Devils are best known for producing one of the greatest wide receivers in NFL history, but their basketball program has also won SWAC championships.
The Delta Devils name references the Mississippi Delta region where the university is located, combined with a fierce competitive spirit.
