Montana State University in Bozeman competes in the Big Sky Conference and maintains an intense in-state rivalry with Montana. The Bobcats have won multiple Big Sky championships and made NCAA Tournament appearances.
The Bobcats mascot was adopted to represent the elusive and agile wild bobcats found throughout the mountains and forests of Montana.
The 2022 NCAA Tournament appearance, the program's first since 1996, when Montana State won the Big Sky Tournament and returned to the national stage.
Montana State's Brick Breeden Fieldhouse is one of the most unique arenas in college basketball, with a distinctive barrel-roof design dating to its 1957 construction.
