Morgan State University in Baltimore is a historically Black university competing in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. The Bears have won multiple MEAC championships and have a proud basketball tradition among HBCUs.
The Bears mascot was adopted to represent strength and tenacity, giving the Baltimore-based HBCU a powerful athletic identity.
The 2010 NCAA Tournament appearance, earned by winning the MEAC Tournament Championship and representing the conference on the national stage.
Morgan State has one of the most active and spirited pep bands in the MEAC, creating an electric atmosphere at home basketball games.
The Morgan State Bears compete in the MEAC and hold an all-time record of 434–767 (.361 winning percentage) across 47 recorded seasons dating back to 1971-72.
