North Carolina A&T is a historically Black university in Greensboro competing in the Colonial Athletic Association. The Aggies have won multiple MEAC championships and made NCAA Tournament appearances, representing one of the largest HBCUs in the nation.
The Aggies nickname reflects the university's agricultural and technical roots, as NC A&T was founded in 1891 as an agricultural and mechanical college.
The 2013 NCAA Tournament appearance, when the Aggies won the MEAC Tournament and faced Louisville in the first round, proudly representing HBCU basketball on the national stage.
NC A&T is the largest HBCU in the nation by enrollment, and its move from the MEAC to the CAA in 2022 was a significant realignment moment for HBCU athletics.
The North Carolina A&T Aggies compete in the CAA and hold an all-time record of 734–830 (.469 winning percentage) across 55 recorded seasons dating back to 1971-72.
