Colgate's basketball program dates to 1900 at the private university in Hamilton, New York. The Raiders compete in the Patriot League and have won multiple conference championships. The program has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years with several NCAA Tournament appearances.
The Raiders nickname was adopted in the 1930s, replacing 'Maroon,' and represents the aggressive, attacking spirit of the university's athletic teams.
Earning back-to-back NCAA Tournament bids in 2019 and later years under coach Matt Langel, establishing Colgate as a Patriot League powerhouse.
Colgate's Cotterell Court at Reid Athletic Center seats only 1,750 fans in tiny Hamilton, New York (population 4,000), making it one of the most remote and intimate D-I venues in the country.
The Colgate Raiders compete in the Patriot League and hold an all-time record of 1426–1478 (.491 winning percentage) across 125 recorded seasons dating back to 1900-01.
