Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, competes in the ASUN Conference and made a breakthrough NCAA Tournament appearance in 2018 under coach Casey Alexander. The Bisons have grown from an NAIA program to a competitive Division I mid-major.
The Bisons (deliberately spelled with an "s" rather than the grammatically standard plural) mascot represents power and resilience, chosen to give the Nashville-based school a distinctive identity.
Earning the program's first NCAA Tournament bid in 2018, defeating Florida Gulf Coast in the ASUN Tournament Championship to punch their ticket to the Big Dance.
Lipscomb is affiliated with the Churches of Christ and is located in Nashville's Green Hills neighborhood, making it one of the few Division I programs situated in a major music industry hub.
