Rider's basketball program dates to 1929, and the Lawrenceville, New Jersey school competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Broncs have been a competitive MAAC program with multiple conference tournament appearances.
The Broncs name dates to 1955, when it replaced the original 'Roughriders' nickname coined in the late 1920s by coaching legend Clair Bee — a play on the Rider name, complete with a logo of a rough rider atop a bucking bronco.
Winning the 1994 Northeast Conference Tournament and earning an NCAA Tournament bid, one of the program's most successful seasons.
Rider's campus is located in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, just minutes from Princeton University, creating one of the most unlikely Division I basketball rivalries in the Garden State.
The Rider Broncs compete in the MAAC and hold an all-time record of 924–875 (.514 winning percentage) across 64 recorded seasons dating back to 1928-29.
