Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina, competes in the Big South Conference and is one of the smallest schools in Division I basketball. The Blue Hose have been building their program since transitioning to Division I in 2007.
The "Blue Hose" nickname dates to the early 1900s, when sportswriters dubbed the teams the "Blue Stockings" for the blue socks the players wore; headline writers shortened it to "Hose," and the school officially adopted "Blue Hose" in the 1950s.
