The University of Arkansas at Little Rock (now UA Little Rock) competes in the Ohio Valley Conference and has a history of mid-major success. The Trojans are best remembered for their 1986 NCAA Tournament upset and have produced competitive teams in multiple conferences.
The Trojans nickname was adopted to evoke the warriors of ancient Troy, representing fighting spirit and determination for the Little Rock-based university.
The 2016 NCAA Tournament first-round double-overtime upset of #5 seed Purdue, 85-83, one of the most thrilling games of that tournament.
Little Rock's Jack Stephens Center is named after Jackson T. Stephens, a billionaire financier and one of Arkansas's most prominent businessmen.
The Little Rock Trojans compete in the Ohio Valley and hold an all-time record of 779–666 (.539 winning percentage) across 47 recorded seasons dating back to 1978-79.
